so heres some fliks i took while we trek'd our way deep into bear country. i'd say we were a little unprepared for how miserably cold it got at 12,000 feet in the mountains. couldn't sleep and ended up sleeping next to the giant fire we made.(nathan literally spooned the fire pit rocks to keep warm and was covered in ash and my blanket (beach towel) caught on fire) i'd say it got to about 35 degrees that night. i had terrible bear anxiety and would shine the flashlight every time i heard some bushes move. after the 6 hour hike back down to the valley we packed up and headed to my old mountain stomping' ground Mammoth. Stayed 2 days up there hiking and seeing the sights and found a sick 2nd rainbow falls site. jumped off a 40 foot cliff rock into an amazing, serene, seemed to be untouched by man, freezing cold lake. was the highlight of the trip for me. the 3rd picture from the bottom is the rock we jumped off. was great to get outta town to clear the ol' noggin', but real nice to be back in the city. peace.
