dope. learned a lot from the legend. dudes a legit legend in Thailand. always on TV n wacky thai comedy shows. in the 80's he was so good no-one would fight him and he wasn't making any money. he beat everybody and made even the toughest competition look silly. so he moved to international boxing competitions. and whooped people. after he retired he was a.. i guess folky/r&b/ladies man kinda singer. all 30+ years of age thai women love this dude. :"oh samart he so handsome" and that kinda shit. bottom-line dudes a pimp and a sick ass fighter. don't speak a lick of english tho. and jongsanan had to interpret for him and jongsanan is pretty shitty at speaking english too. so it was pretty interested. all n all i learned a shit ton of lil tricky techniques. respect.
always have been a fan of sanchai's technical trickery style of muay thai. I'm forever watching muaythai fights from banana821's youtube channel (which is always up to date with all the latest thai channel3, channel7 fight that play every sat, sun there. which is always my routine to grab a beer or some whiskey and go to my lil bar n gamble with Mam or whatever old thai dudes are there.) just came a crossed sanchai's latest lumpini fight against a new young fighter named Penake. and Penake been beating everybody, probably cuz he's a clinch fighter and is super tall for a thai guy and has a big advantage in the clinch game. what I'm getting' at is that this match between the two is wanna the most technically well played , entertaining fights I've seen all year. (notice how sanchai will not clinch with him and just holds on to him.) good good fight. study. learn. and Samart Payakaroon the legend will be in SF on saturday for a seminar. shit is mad dough tho. below is a pic of me n saenchai outside of lumpini stadium earlier this year. seen him fight at lumpini 3 times now and never seen him win.
